Hey guys, long time reader first time poster so here it goes. I've read all the posts I could find on here about a similar issue I've been having, however none of the solutions worked for me. Here's my problem:
I'm getting a buzzing on my DI input on my Mbox2 from my keyboard's line out. I'm using a 1/4" plug. So I've tried all the usual things: checking outlets, seeing if anything new is plugged in, unplugging to try and find the source, etc. Other electronics in the house won't affect it since I've got the studio on a separate line. Firstly, the buzzing is only there when that track (with the keyboard line into the DI) is record enabled. Second, it's also not always there. I've actually gone weeks without a problem, totally clean input sound. I tried figuring out if there's a certain time or day of the week, but honestly it's really random. I've also gone around the house, when I hear the buzzing, to try and identify anything else that might be causing it, like some electronics plugged in. It's not a humming so I don't think it's a grounding issue, it's more of a high pitched buzz (see below for link to sound). I've also tried recording hot onto the line to try and drown out the buzz, but any compression on the track reveals the buzzing. Other solutions I've tried have been: a frequency filter you click onto the cable to try and filter out the offending frequencies, someone suggested a Ground Loop Isolator from RadioShack - that actually made it worse! I've recorded for a few years with this issue, but just chose to record when the buzzing wasn't there. However, I'm tired of putting up with it and I want to make some music without this hindrance. Is there a product or solution you could suggest?
