The concept, the time, the location and other things dictate, that I pretty much always have to record myself when playing the acoustic guitar.
So, then I'm playing & recording at the same time.
Sound:The recorded sound is (somehow) always better (more natural, open) when recording other people. gruudge
I just can't find the sweet spot when holding the instrument.
Concentration: Recording other people is much simpler: Don't have to concentrate on the performance as well. Just searching for the sweet spot, changing mics position etc. And the Playing performance is better, when not worrying about the mics…
Monitoring: The real sound coming from the guitar is competing the headphones monitoring. Then I make the monitoring loud, but this changes the way I play. Then I go to turn up the Preamp volume, take I seat and I got a slightly new position, a new sound…
Mic position: If I find several positions of the mic, it is tricky to mark/remember/compare them, because I'm holding my instrument at the same time.
Place in the room: The best sounding place in the room is not the one where my computer, the interface and the preamp sit. OK, I connected my ipad to Logic pro, so I can control the DAW from the best sounding place in room. At the beginning I liked this gadget, but now I hate the disturbing touch screen shining in the dark, when I need to be in a meditative mood.
Please, don't let me down & suggest inviting a second person for recording. Tnx.

- Do you have some suggestion workflow wise?
- Maybe capturing a video of the sitting & mic positions with my smart phone camera?
- Any other tricks?
- Maybe I just need more time & patience, because I do 2 jobs in this case?
- Your experience & thoughts?
Please, don't let me down & suggest inviting a second person for recording. Tnx.
