JuiceRack 1: Single Slot 500 Series Power Rack

JuiceRack1 is a single-slot power source for operating one 500-series module. The back panel includes both balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4” inputs and outputs; a 48V phantom power switch is located on the front. JuiceRack1 is a half-rack format, and includes a connector that allows two units to be mounted into a single 1u 19” rack.

Features all-metal construction and full compatibility with the 500-series format. The external AC power supply design, which keeps the power transformer separated from your 500 module’s sensitive electronics, ensures reduced hum and signal interference.

Juicerack 1 is a power rack for a single 500 series module. MAP = $149.99 Link : SM Pro Audio • JuiceRack1 •

JuiceRack 3: 3 Slot 500 Series Power Rack

JuiceRack 3 is a 1u 19” 500-series power rack designed to house up to three single-slot 500-series modules in a horizontal configuration. A 48V phantom power switch is located on the back of the rack, which also features three slots of balanced XLR inputs and outputs and three slots of unbalanced 1/4” inputs and outputs.

Durable, all-metal construction and full compatibility with the 500-series format are at the heart of the unit, but the JuiceRack3’s standout feature is its built-in, flexible signal routing—a revolutionary internal patching system that sets it apart from all other 500-series power racks currently available. The on-board audio routing lets you do the following:

FEED – Send the audio output of one module into another
LINK1 – Split a single balanced input and send it to multiple modules simultaneously
LINK2 – Split a single unbalanced input and send it to multiple modules simultaneously
Built-in status LEDs highlight which modules are using the FEED / LINK features.

Juicerack 3 is a 19” power rack for 3 x single width modules. MAP = $349.99 Link : SM Pro Audio • JuiceRack3 •

Juicerack 8: 8 Slot 500 Series Power Rack

JuiceRack 8 is a 19” rack-mount power source designed to house up to eight 500-series modules in a vertical configuration. The rear panel sports eight slots of balanced XLR inputs and outputs along with eight slots of unbalanced 1/4” inputs and outputs. A 48V phantom power switch is located on the front of the rack for easy access. Like the JuiceRack3, the JuiceRack8 boasts rugged, all-metal construction, is designed to be fully compatible with the 500-series format, and features the uniquely powerful and flexible onboard signal routing:

FEED - Send the audio output of one module into another
LINK1 - Split a single balanced input and send it to multiple modules simultaneously
LINK2 - Split a single unbalanced input and send it to multiple modules simultaneously
Onboard LEDs indicate which modules are using the FEED / LINK features, with each slot’s status independently configurable.

Juicerack 8 is a 19” power rack for 8 module slots. MAP = $349.99 Link : SM Pro Audio • JuiceRack8 •

JuiceBlock 3: 3 Slot 500 Series Power Block

JuiceBlock3 is a portable, stand-alone power block designed to house up to three 500-series modules (3 x single-slot modules, or 1 x single-slot plus 1 x dual-slot module) in a vertical configuration. A 48V phantom power switch is mounted conveniently on the front of the block, and the back panel includes three slots of balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as unbalanced1/4” inputs and outputs.

Like the JuiceRack3, the JuiceBlock3 features heavy-duty all-metal construction and full compatibility with 500-series modules. It also includes the elegantly powerful internal patching system, which allows you to:

FEED the audio output from one module to another
LINK1 a single balanced input and send it into multiple modules simultaneously
LINK2 a single unbalanced input and send it into multiple modules simultaneously
On-board LEDs indicate which modules are using the FEED/ LINK features.

How to clean s900 floppy drive?

Hello

I'm getting the error "Oops, the floppy drive must be prepared" something like that... I've obviously already formatted the floppy

So I'm thinking the floppy needs to be cleaned or it is broken...

Any tips about cleaning the floppy? Are there other ways instead using a floppy cleaner (I doubt I can find them in 2013)

Thank you all

Mackie MR8 mk2... resonance

Hi,

I bought a pair of the MR8 mk2 mackies, But I'm having a little problems with resonance.

Listening to the Tron Legacy sound track, there are horns in the middle of the song starting out quiet and progressively getting louder, the horns sound like they sit between bass and mid tones, but as the horns get louder I notice some resonance. Before I bought my WavePads this was alot worse, Now its a tad bit better sitting on the pads.

My setup is on a solid desk, speakers about 2-3in from a wall and im sitting about 2ft from them.

I knew they were bass heavy but this is a bit bad, In the testing studio at the store I bought them from I never noticed any resonance.

Maybe I should stuff a sock in the back port.

Also, With the wave pads, should I have the rounded bit covering the front lip of the monitor or backwards to the rear.

These are the wave pads here Wave Panel Speaker Pads - Online Music Store Australia - Kosmic Sound

Thanks.

Polyphonic analog tube synthesizer. Developed by AIR as part of the Pro Tools Creative Collection from Avid.

The new Vacuum Pro is polyphonic, offers up to 160 oscillators.

The Vacuum part of the name Vacuum Pro relates to the six tube circuits that lend a particularly ‘analog’ flavor to each of the main synthesis modules—oscillators, filters, mixer, etc. Modulation effects, delay, and a classic arpeggiator add motion and depth to the sound.

Vacuum Pro Polyphonic Analog Tube Synthesizer is for 32- or 64- bit Mac or Windows systems, AAX, VST, AU, and RTAS formats.

MBC502: System 500 Multi Band Optical Compressor

The MBC502 is a custom-designed, optical multi-band compressor in a dual-slot 500-series format. Each channel—low-frequency and high-frequency—offers control over level, compression amount, and attack and release times. Switches allow you to mute one of the compression channels so that the other can act as a filter, with the filter’s center frequency determined by the setting of the front panel Frequency selector knob. The VU meter displays the master output level, while gain reduction is shown on the LED meters.

Editing is performed via a complement of dedicated oil damped rotary controls, with each compression band sporting independent controls. The exception is the Master Level knob, which gives you convenient, simultaneous control over the output levels of both compressor bands.

Finally, like the Tubebox, the MBC502 audio circuit uses the LME 49720 ultra-low distortion/low noise Op Amps, for uncompromised audio output.

Whether you’re taming vocal peaks, getting a bass to sit in the pocket, or looking to do serious sound-sculpting, our MBC502 is more than ready to lend a hand.

PEQ505: 5 Band Parametric Equalizer

We know it’s hard to believe, but there really are five bands of fully- parametric equalization packed into this dual-slot 500-series module! Each of the PEQ505’s identical channels features continuously variable level, frequency, and bandwidth controls, an off/on switch, and a switch for selecting the channel’s frequency operation range (as labeled, divide by 10, and multiply by 10.) The Master output includes a level control, bypass switch, and an LED level meter with peak indicator.

With a panel layout designed to maximize flexibility of operation in a minimum amount of space, the PEQ505 is a joy to use, with oil-damped hand-machined rotary knobs and clearly labeled controls. Like our other 500-series modules, the PEQ505’s circuitry features the LME49720 ultra-low distortion/low noise Op Amps, for superb, professional quality audio performance.

Try it, listen to it, consider it for your next project. You’ll gain a new appreciation for the phrase “good things come in small packages.”

Hi,

In addition to this ad here
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gears...ml#post8657836
I have a Hohner Electra-Piano for sale (the wooden home version).
It has some keys that tend not to return after pressing (that should be fixed after transport), otherwise it's in fully working order.
It has some small dents on the lid and a few minimal other cosmetical flaws (I'll add pics to that Flickr link ASAP).

I might add a few more things shortly (Simmons SDS 2000, Vermona equalizer, Echolette tape delay, Shruthi-1/SMR4 etc.), but that is not fully decided yet.

Cheers,
Bert

TC501 Tubebox: System 500 preamp Module

Tubebox — a single-slot 500-series tube microphone preamp that boasts pristine audio output, superior-quality high-end design, and a value price. The small but mighty device features a Class A tube preamplifier, switchable phantom power, phase invert, selectable -20dB pad, and a super fast in-line optical compressor. The front panel includes a TRS microphone input—a standout feature typically not found on 500-series preamps.

The easy-access interchangeable 12AX7 preamp tube allows you to experiment with a variety modern and vintage tubes to customize the Tubebox’s sound and performance to your taste. The switchable (in/out) compressor provides adjustable attack and release, and when it’s in use, the on-board VU meter automatically changes from displaying master level to amount of gain reduction, so you can view the exact results of the compression being applied. Editing is done using our smooth, responsive (and eye-catching!) hand-machined controls. And last but not least: The Tubebox audio circuit uses LME49720 ultra-low distortion/low noise Op Amps, for suberb audio output.

Think you can’t get a full-featured, great-sounding 500-series mic pre for an exceptional price? Think again!

DBX-3BX Series III (any use in my home studio?)

$

I know what the DBX 3BX Series III was designed for and I will never need it for its intended purposes. So my question then is would it ever serve me any purpose in my rack with all my analogue compressors, preamps, etc? I am pretty sure I know the answer (no), but you folks here are brilliant and I am wondering if I am missing something.

I need money, and am about to sell my DBX 3BX Series III, but the darn things are very collectable to many people and just too cool to see in the rack with all the other gear. But cool looking gear that I never will use does not feed me.

I know some people suggest using it to bring more life/impact to samples that are lofi, or smashed with compression....but I am not into that type of music personally, and if I were working with an artist that was, and used such samples, I believe I can just use one of the couple expanders built in to my DBX compressors, or certainly somewhere in the 100s of WAVES plugins, will serve that purpose? I realize the DBX 3BX III has a one of a kind sound, it's 'impact control' is seems sought after by many. But really, how often would the need arise? I am sure creative use of my other DBX expanders or plug ins will get the job done, right?

Is there some use for the DBX 3BX III in a project studio that I am just not thinking of? I would be grateful if anyone would help me. I need to sell it, I am hungry, but I will starve if there is some awesome audio property to this puppy that I have somehow missed in my research. thank you

Logic doesn't timestamp some files

Files which have been recorded by Logic, I am trying to spot them into Pro Tools and SOME files are not timestamped.

What would be the best solution?

In Logic the files "return to the correct original position" but in the Pro Tools workspace window they are shown without a timestamp.

I'll finally be moving to a bigger house soon, which will entail a bucket of GAS including a dedicated and treated studio space.

The main part of this I want to get right for me is the choice of monitor speakers and I've narrowed it down to these three.

I make everything from dance to classical score, the former of which gives me a niggling feeling the PMC's may be a little small. I definitely don't want a sub.

This isn't a which is best question, rather a question about the thoughts from you guys that have been able to compare the differences between these monitors, and what your own preferences are.

It's unlikely I'll be able to audition all three at the same time.

Thanks

Does anyone find it odd that nobody in this section cares about NAMM?

This is very off topic but for a site like Gearslutz it seems many people in this particular section aren't into new gear or is it just me? I see all kinds of stuff about hardware from the 80s and 90s maybe something as recent as a Mpc 2500 or of course Maschine and the Mpc Ren or whatever plug in from 6-7 years ago but when the cool new stuff from Namm is announced today The Prophet 12 MS 20 mini, and King Korg come right to mind and I see not one thread about it. Are we stuck in a time warp gearwise to where we don't care anymore in the hip hop world about new gear?

Jx-8p owners! Check this out!!!

Hey guys!

So thanks to the awesome layouts that Rainer K made / posted in this thread: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/elect...-designer.html, I was really inspired to build one specifically for the JX-8P. You need an iPad, the MIDI Designer app (you'll have to buy the full version...the lite version isn't worth your time), and a way to connect your iPad to your JX-8P's MIDI in (I use a usb -> midi converter plugged into the camera connection kit, second gen iPad)

The foundation of my design is based on Patch development and Live performance (or just jamming at home ). I made sure all aspects of the PG-800 were considered, but I did not let its layout restrict me. I also made sure to include "Unison Detune" and "Bend LFO Depth" which are not found on the PG-800 and are extremely useful parameters.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post here.

I did my best to test every parameter/control, but PLEASE let me know if you find any bugs! I will update them ASAP.

Otherwise, enjoy! It really brought a beast out of my JX-8P that you all know is begging to be let out!! kfhkh:synth:

Three 500-series EQ's for All-Purpose Use?

$
0

I have a perfect space in the studio to put a 3-slot Radial Cube and I have no outboard EQ. I'm thinking of filling it with an A-Designs EM-PEQ and a pair of Great River 32EQ's. I'm kind of interested in the Kush Electra too, though. Whatever I end up with will be used on anything and everything - drums, vox, guitars, bass, etc., etc.

Thoughts?
