Mfb dominion x synth patches ?

Hi all.. I have had an MFB DOMINION X analogue synth for about 2 months, athough i have made a few harsh and appealing effects like sweeps and bleeps etc, i have failed to produce a sound such as a pleasing bass or lead part, also the synth sounds quite noisy and it doesnt sound like any of the videos i have seen of people demonstrating the synth, i am beginning to wonder if the maybe a fault with the filter or something on the synth :(

Does anyone use this synth? If so would anyone mind to guide me on how to get a simple bass sound so that i can tell if something is faulty?

P.S What function do i need to have selected by the selector button (near the screen)
