Just a heads up for anyone in the market; I was considering getting a new iMac to upgrade my 2005 PowerMac (non-Intel dinosaur) and ended up getting a Mac Mini 2.3Ghz quad-core Intel Core i7 and installing 16GB (aftermarket) RAM.
It works perfectly and absolutely outperforms the 2005 PowerMac in every way. I've had large sessions with multiple virtual instruments, heavy plugs on every channel and have never had to adjust buffer for a time out.
So far so good for under $900 including RAM...
