So I recently picked up an old dj mixer which I'm quite fond of. It's a Pyramid PR6800 Echo - in perfect condition - and I was thinking about whether or not it'd be possible to do a particular modification. It's probably unlikely anyone has direct experience with this, so I guess I'm just posing the question as to whether anyone knows if the following would be theoretically possible. There's very little info about the mixer on the net meaning I can't post any links so I'll just describe what I'm thinking as best I can and see if anyone has any ideas on the matter...
Basically the mixer has two 7-band eqs - one for the left and one the right. These are applied universally, ie controlling the left/right sides of whatever channel or combination of channels that are feeding the master out. I'm wondering would it be possible to somehow re-route some stuff inside so as to assign the eqs to separate channels. The mixer has 2 phono channels and 2 lines, but I'm not using the lines so would be looking to apply the left eqs to phono1 and the right eqs to phono2 giving me independent control over the two channels I wish to use.
Anybody know if this would be possible (in theory even)? I've got a tech guy who carries out repairs on my synths etc, so will be asking him when I next see him, but was just wondering if anyone on here has any ideas on the matter.
You might say why go through such bother but, well, I just really like this mixer and if I could get it to function like this it'd be a dream and totally worth any hassle/cost...
Cheers
