DRUMS - (PLUG IN) SEQUENCER NEEDED - [Advice?]

What's up all,

I learned production in Reason 4. I love the ease of Redrum followed by using the "step sequencer" to click in where I want my drums to hit on the grid. It's very user friendly and far from confusing...

However, Reason does not compare to Logic and Pro Tools for obvious reasons.

I have many other synths, VSTs that I use in Pro Tools and Logic. I know I can use Reason as an AUX track for drums, but that's just not cutting it anymore.

I need this drum sequencer that I can pull up in Logic and/or Pro Tools as I would pull up any other plug in for a synth/VST.

I'm aware that products exist like Motu BPM and Geist by FXpansion... I'm also aware of the Maschine.

Basically, I have thousands and thousands of kick, snare, hi hat samples. I would love to get a drum step sequencer plug in where I could not only very easily use my own samples (as I would with Redrum in Reason), but also pick one that comes with tons of its own sounds.

This leads me to a few questions/concerns:

1) Are there any FREE drum step sequencers out there that will suit my needs (plug in that works in both Pro Tools and Logic and will allow me to use my own samples)

2) What would you get?

3) Do these drum step sequencers all have the ability to ADD GROOVE/SHUFFLE to your drums? (I'm assuming, and hoping, they do)

4) I would like to see the step sequencer so I can click in my notes, as I would in Reason, and I would also like to be able to PLAY the samples on my MIDI keyboard, once again, as I would do with Redrum inside of Reason

5) I'd prefer a plug in as opposed to hardware

Thanks
