Do I need a Bass Driver

I have a yamaha Passive bass Guitar, i connect it to Mbox 3 interface I record with logic pro. The bass doesn't sound ok to me, it sounds weak and not like what I hear on recording.

Im thinking to buy the sansamp or the mxr m80

im wondering if my gear is ok meaning mbox3 can do the job but it needs more on producing/mixing to get it right.

or buying a sansamp would be a better choice, I don't want to waste money if mbox3 has the capability to do what sans amp or mxr can do.
