Used Console best bang for the buck?

Hi all.

I am venturing into the studio world with a view of primarily recording to analogue however the digital option may also be something - not sure.

I am looking for a "sleeper" console - one that people refer to as a great bit of kit that may be overlooked a lot of the time, however does what it should do.

Suggestions welcome budget of 1-1.5k gbp.
