Hello gearsluterz!
This is my first post so please go easy.. I've had a look around the forum and found general advice but I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little more tailored advice.
I'm soon to be recording a live song in an old church for a video performance. The bass player will be using an upright bass (which has a pick up) which for the sake of balance will probably be going through an amp.
Usually when I record upright I suspend a Schoeps omni behind the strings in the usual fashion (and take a DI), only I don't own the mic and I can't get hold of it (as it's about 200 miles away).
There will only be 1 available channel to record on, so I'm not sure how to go about recording it.
I've got a 57 (and 58), Senn e602, MXL 990 and Samson C1 at my disposal (not a great selection, I know).
What are people's opinions - mic the upright or the cab?

That's the sort of style I'll be recording.
Many thanks!
