Blue Cactus - K47 Replacement?

To anyone at JJ Audio, or anyone that knows about replacing capsules on the Cactus.

Opinions vary on the Blue Cactus, as do mine. I own one and I'm not yet sure if I'll always own one or eventually swap it for a boutique 49 clone.

If you're not familiar with the Blue Cactus. The cactus is a unique flavor of vintage tone. A little dirty, a hint of grit but above all else, it's smooth. My engineer buddy couldn't believe how little sibilance he could get out of the mic, "Seriously! You would never need to de-ess this thing.", he said. kfhkh

Without any kind of compression or EQ, the mic could be described as flat, boring, pretty mundane and uninspiring. But it really has a unique character that can be brought out by the right signal path. Search YouTube for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, "Please Read The Letter" to hear how it sounds.

Anyway, I've read that you can swap out the capsule on these mics or that some of you have but I'm not sure how. If anyone has any insight into doing that, or what Blue capsules could be purchased and used for the Cactus, I'd really be interested in knowing that information.

Lastly, what about throwing a K67, like the Euro, or ADK that JJ Audio offers? If I had a separate head that I could put on the Cactus that had a K67 capsule in it, that could take the cactus from being a mic I'm unsure of, to a mic... I can't friggin' believe that I have!... and love. jummpp Thanks for your thoughts.
