Do you feel that sound award system is fair? I know many talented professionals that feel disappointed for not being recognised for their work while the supervising sound editor who never touched the session or mixer receives the awards.
Of course the sound supervisors deserve getting some of the credit, they often bring the gigs and make big decisions. I'm not referring to sound supervisors who also work as sound designers. Saying that, some sound supervisors call themselves sound designers and never actually do any sound design or editing.
I'm talking about small teams of (2 to 4) that work on award wining films but do not receive the credit they deserve.
Do you think this should change?
