Improving Synth Bass Playing?

So I bought a Rhodes and it was the best thing to ever happen to my ambition/inspiration to learn chords. I created a thread here on GS about chord tips and it went pretty well. So now Im giving this a try...

After driving 4 hours to buy a Prodigy off a guy on Craigslist and then driving back home empty handed (he said 'Everything works' but it was obviously not even in 'mostyl' working condition:cop::cop:)....I bought a minitaur and I am hoping this can be the bass machine that really causes me to learn how to play live synth bass better. I play with a few friends in an increasingly more 'live' capacity and need to improve my bass chops. I can play drums a bit so my sense of timing is pretty good but I just havent really found anything; YT vids, GS threads, books at the music shop that really focus on how to get that nice bouncy synth bass.

Im thinking stuff like 'Boogie on reggae woman', and even the new Chromeo vibe (although im pretty sure I heard them reveal that they play live but chop it and re-sequence it on the MPC in a future-music video).

Im doing OK at figuring out wormy leads and jazz-odyssey rhodes noodles but the tightness the bass plays as part of the rhythm section has me looking for answers...

Just to clarify Im not asking about sound design, I am requesting any tips or links on actual playing technique.

As always, Thanks Slutz.:synth:yingyanghooppieyingyang:synth:
