Are matched pairs worth the extra $?

I know there are some other threads relating to this on GS, but I want some simple yea or nea opinions from those of you that, from experience, know best.

Are matched pairs worth the extra money?

Obviously, things like manufacturer consistency and build quality come into play, so I guess I'm asking specifically about good quality mics, 'though not necessarily the stratospheric heights of high-end.
