I'm considering going into freelance work somewhere in the area of sound engineering/production. As a result, I'm looking for a bit of info just to tame my own curiosity.
So, for those of you who freelance in some way or area of music, tell me about it.
-What exactly do you do (i.e. mixing, mastering, recording bands, song writing, etc.)?
-What facilities do you use (house, studio, bedroom, etc.)?
-What kind of money do you gross?
-What rates are you charging for the services you provide in #1?
-What kind of gear are you using and or what would you say is its estimated otal cost?
-What kind of previous education/experience did you have before you got into freelancing as a profession?
-Do you do anything else on the side (aka day job) or do you only do your freelance work?
