Guitar and Bass Recording: "Solve for X"

After posting yet another 'active or passive' thread which garnered zero responses, i did my homework and now know the proper questions to ask.
Shopping for DI/Splitter/isolator for both GTR and Bass.

So the goal here is pretty standard, recording of live guitar and bass.
All my audio interfaces have low & hi-Z inputs, however i will need to use a splitter on both guitar and bass, so that the raw signals can be recorded, and the players can also hear themselves in the room without going through recording buffers. So, splitter for each to go to amp plus rec inputs, respectively.

My conundrum comes of course from the active v. passive discussion...im having trouble tracking down info on the HB-103B and HB-102N pickups in our Jackson V guitar, plus we use a Schecter bass.

I have been told to use Passive DI/Splitters with isolation transformers.
But i have also been told that I should be matching active pickups to active DIs and passive pickups to passive DIs.

The Jackson guitar has both types though, or at least the HB 102 pickup is significantly less hot than the 103B, or so i have been told.

Anyone have a great specs site for pickup research, i didnt find description of active or passive for these at the actual Duncan website...

and perhaps you could tell me: how crucial is it to get active versus passive DIs based on our pickup models? I would like to avoid getting additional preams, and the recording interfaces already have pres on them.

Your thoughts? Thanks ppl :)
