Neotek elite "Take out everything and mod console chassi"

I again, my Neotek Elite is to big and heavy. Insted of open up my living room floor and other bigger changes to my villa just so a crane can lift in the console down to my basement I was thinking on another solution.

The size of the console is almost 3000x1200x500mm and about 300kg.
(4x10x1.6 feet and 660 pounds)

I need to clean and excersice all faders and pots. So if I rip out all modules and faders. That would for shure make the console lighter. Then if I do some minor changes in a staircase me and a friend maybe could carry it down to the basement.

I want to mod the console chassi. My patchbay is on the left, then mixer and master modules and then there is a work space as big to the right as my patchbay to the left, more the 50cm wide. Has anone moded a console like that?

I gain almost two feet. Is it something not to hard to do?
Iam almost thinking about ripping out the patchbay to. Then I would gain almost four feet. If the patchbay is connected using ribbons or other multiconnections, then it wouldnt be to hard to do. I could have my patchbay standalone.

Another question. Is it safe to turn on the PSU with nothing connected to measure the voltage out?
Some amplifiers needs resitance, or they burn.
Regards
Johan
