Not sure whether this would be better placed in the Music Computers forum (so mods, please move if you feel it should) but thought given it's essentially a hardware sampler issue, I'd try here first.
I recently upgraded my studio PC from Win XP to Win 7 64 bit, knowing that I'd have to run my Akai Z8 / Ak.sys set-up through a Virtual machine / XP mode. In a nutshell, I've got the set-up up and running, with AK. sys happily communicating with the Z8 for editing purposes, but am having real problems transferring sounds from my PC hard drive to the Z8 over USB. When initiating a transfer, the USB connection fails every time before the end of the first file transfer, thus rendering it unusable.
Does anybody have any experience of running an Akai sample using Ak.sys in Win 7 64, or advice for getting virtual USB working properly?
Thanks,
Chris.
