Which pair of condenser mics for piano and vocals?

Hi,

I'm looking to record male vocals, a grand piano in stereo, and possibly an acoustic guitar (not simultaneously) and looking for a good quality mic combination to do that.

I'm leaning towards buying a matched pair of large diaphragm condenser mics that I could use for recording the piano or guitar in stereo and for the vocals as well. For the piano I was thinking of putting the two mics in the spaced pair configuration.

My budget is somewhat flexible, but I was looking at mics in the 700 - 800 dollar range, so maybe around $1600 total.

The ideas I had so far:
• A matched pair of C414 XLii (or XLS?)
• A neumann TLM 102 for vocals, and a pair of cheaper mics for the piano / guitar. Maybe a pair of C214? This has the advantage of allowing me to record vocal + stereo instrument in one take if I upgrade my audio interface. I think I can live with having to do separate takes which I plan on doing most of the time, but having the added option of recording simultaneously is always nice.

Also, I have an FA-66 audio interface. Should I upgrade that to an apogee duet, or maybe a good 3 channel audio interface?

Thanks in advance for the recommendations.
