I have the opportunity of buying a used Soundfield 422, and thought it might be a useful upgrade from my AT4050st microphone to record in MS and have options afterwards.
As I record in quite some beautiful churches, the post-options of the four microphones in B-format might be a nice added value.
But I hardly find any classical music demos of this microphone alone, so it is hard for me to judge if I should consider this microphone.
I will of course test it before I buy, but I will only be home in two weeks (concert tour right now) and would like to know if I should still hold the option.
I know that some people here use a Soundfield -- could you enlighten me on the quality of these cardioid capsules and post some audio?
Thanks!
