Balanced or Unbalanced cables for aux sends/returns?

I have a toft atb with balanced aux sends but unbalanced aux returns. my fx units are balanced in and out. so what kind of 1/4 inch cable do i use for the aux sends and returns, balanced or unbalanced???? the manual does not say.
