Convince me I need to upgrade my DAW!
Is anyone else running old software? Sorry, but I just do not see the need to upgrade. My system does everything I need to and more and I stopped drooling over software as it seems to be all very similar just lacking in different ways. I upgraded to PT LE 8 when it first came out and then downgraded due to how they changed the waveform overviews which severely crippled drum editing.
No DAW upgrade can make my recordings better.
My general setup:
PT LE 7.3.1 with musicians toolkit (full beat detective)
Plugs: Glue, FG-X, Trigger, Vocalign, some Waves, a couple of virtual instruments
Hardware: 003, Apogee Rosetta 800, LA2A, Distressor, Great River, lunchbox stuff API pre's, 550B, etc
I've been rocking this setup for years, professionally full time for a couple of years and it is rock solid.
I concentrate on making music sound good and I feel most of the DAW toys are distractions.
Anyone else feel the same and rocking old stuff?
